Adsense - Better after getting traffic

I wonder if it is better to delay the adsense inclusion in the site until I get some traffic or it does not matter.

I read comments made by few IM'ers that they delayed it until the site start to get some traffic. But didn't give much insight into it.

I would like to know warriors take on this.

I've always waited until I got traffic to my site. It's just something I was told to do years ago and still do it like this even today.

I forgot what the whole theory was behind it, but it was something like Google may decide that your site isn't "fit" to have adsense or something if your website isn't bringing in traffic.

Not sure if it's true, but I never tempt the Google Gods...

The ad-free sites are somewhat extinct today. IMO, it's always better to build the traffic first and then include the adsense. Why go for pea-nuts when your site has the potential to become a gold-mine?

If your website has a login system, later you may consider displaying ads to only the anonymous/unregistered users.

When your site is well established, you can freely display the ads.

This is the three step approach I advice to the site owners who want to make it big in the ad-revenues.

Thank you guys for the comments.

So, if am not including google analytics, google does not know my traffic stats.

So that means the age of domain is the factor to make google happy !!!

Well I think it is more about how your site looks. Honestly they probably just have someone review your site and see if it is a junky site or not. As long as you have informative content you should probably be ok.

I have always waited to put adsense on my sites until I got traffic for a couple of reasons. First of all, you don't get much by adding it early. If you add adsense when your site is still new the only thing it will do is be a big time waster because you'll keep logging into adsense 50 times a day, especially if you are new to it.

Second, I think it is easier to get natural links when you don't have adds on a site. This is just my opinion, but I think it makes sense, a lot of directories and blogs shun linking to sites with ads all over the place.

Having built several hundred sites with Adsense on them over the years, I always put Adsense on them from Day 1. I've never had any problems or any reason to think it was a bad move. As long as the content on your pages is solid and not spammy or regurgitated nonsense just to fill up a page, you really don't have any worries.

And here's another thing to consider...

New sites often experience what's known as the QDF Effect. That's Query Deserves Freshness, and all it means is that Google temporarily gives a boost to content it finds that it doesn't already have in its index. For you as the brand new site owner, it means some high rankings at first in many cases. So if you wait to put Adsense on later, you might miss out on some easy money early on if/when your new site gets this QDF bump in the rankings.
