Which is better Adsense INCOME? putting 3 AdSense for content units on one webpage, 3 link units and 2 search boxes on each webpage? or putting only 1 ad content unit per page?

It really depends on a lot of factors and there is no clear cut way to go. Some niches you may be able to get away with more ads and be successful, but in general I have found that using less ads gets better conversions. You should do some split testing and find what works best for your niche(s).

I think it depends a lot on your content. If you have a lot of content on each page, spacing blocks of content ads even through the content seems to work well. Whatever you decide to go with though, like Peter said, don't just set it up and never change it again. Run two week long split tests and check your earnings compared to the traffic that came and then choose the best combination.

Good point, the more content you have you can definitely disperse more ads a little better. I personally hate coming across pages that have like 20 words of content and are filled with ads. When it is an obvious attempt to just get ad revenue and not provide any value for your visitors it is a big turn off. In fact on sites that have decent content I am more often likely to click on a relevant ad if I am looking for more info on the subject.
