The Last 2 Days With Adsense.......hell!

Anyone noticed a change in the last 2 days with their Adsense?

My page impressions have increased
The amount of new content posted on my blog has increased
The amount of approved EZA articles has increased

I have been geting about 3-10 clicks per day on 1 of my sites every single day

with a very impressive CTR

BUT yesterday only 1 click and a miserable CTR
and today 40 page impressions and 0 clicks

Something is definitely fishy here if you knew my typical results...

What are the possible reasons for this because...

I'd bet my 2 left feet I would be getting some clicks during the last 2 days, since every day this month Ive been getting a few clicks every day and with the increase in content and impressions I was expecting a lot better..

I will say it's TOO early to think something
must be wrong. Give it a few more days to
    know.

This month has been a roller coaster. More ups

I'm with you. I have about 150 sites running Adsense and my CTR has taken a huge hit this month. However - and this is all I care about in the long run - my income did not take a hit.

So, either something's screwy with Google's stats reporting (my personal opinion), or somehow ad targeting went screwy, which would cause a sharp drop in CTR - BUT the clicks are paying a lot more, which would offset the big drop in CTR.

Like I said, I suspect the problem is with the reporting of the stats, not the alternative. It would be too much of a coincidence to see such a big drop in CTR across as many sites as I have with Adsense on them, but not see any real significant ding to my income. Gotta be that the stats are out of kilter.

Thanks for the input Zeus, makes me feel a little better, hopefully its a glitch.

This month has been my BEST month ever, its only the last 2 days Ive been having problems.

Some may think Im worrying for nothing but trust me I have about 40 SEO optimised articles for the 1 site, I EXPECT to get several clicks every day and that does happen...so this is really strange.

Well I have started my first real site 12 days ago..
250 visits. zero clicks. Ill get worried if after two months, no clicks.
I will just keep adding content and backlinking.

I'm wondering about the same thing too...

I've got page impressions of the hundreds but 0 click? And this is not on 1 site. It is happening to all my sites. Anyone else having this issue or is there something I'm missing here?

Thats interesting Angela? Hundreds of impressions and 0 clicks, that doesnt sound right at all! How many clicks would you normally get per day?

I think its evident that something is wrong with Googles system at the moment, I hope they realize this.

This could happen if Google changes the Ads that are normally shown on your site. A typical situation would be if you change the content of your homepage since the homepage is often the most visited page of your site.

Glad I found this thread because I'm having some trouble too!

My blog is growing daily, and my analytics (not google) are showing 133hits for today! Yet my Adsense account shows 7 hits lol...what's going on here?

Also my earnings yesterday arn't from yesterday, they were from the day before I'm sure! - really confused here...do you think Adsense in general could have a problem at the moment with statistics?

Hopefully it'll sort itself out in the next couple of days but right now It's pretty annoying to see your stats looking good and consistent and then suddenly drop

Yeah, it's really frustrating because I don't know what went wrong. If it's something to do with my sites, then at least I can do something about it but now I'm not even sure what happened. Are most of you using wordpress or static html? Could the problem be that?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[2143112].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author MarkSherris
exactly...if stats went down and google notified you to say look...you site has been blocked please change this and this, then that would be fine but it's frustrating when you can't tell whether it's a general problem or a specific problem to your site.

I'm using Wordpress...i think I'm just going to keep driving traffic over the next few day's and see if it picks up... if not then I'll be switching to a different adnetwork such as adbrite.

As of right now My sites had over 130 unique hits today so adsense showing me 7 is rather fishy lol

As this is happening to quite a few people it seems like to much of a coincidence... Let's just hope it's a general adsense problem and It's being dealt with as we speak :-)

If not...it would be nice to see some feedback from google so that we can solve this problem!

Some of my sites have definitely been lower than usual in the last few days. Although I've seen fluctuations like these before, so I'm going to wait it out for a week or so before I really start worrying that something's up.

There's really no sense in anyone worrying because there is nothing you can do about it. Sure you can write Google, but we all know that you aren't going to get any kind of personalized response or even a response at all. I would just roll with it. If it's a major problem across all Adsense publishers you can bet it will be fixed quickly.

If your showing higher impressions than usual and no clicks...

    Look at your eCPM...

You may be stuck providing space for banner media buys. Google bought out Double Click and is serving media buys through them. Because their statics interface has not been merged, and we don't know when it will, so you won't be able to see any clicks because it is recorded on doubleclicks system.

Depending on your unigue traffic, you might see a couple of cents in the last column that makes it look like you made a couple of cents for NO clicks. Hummm...since when has Google been known to give away money?

    Hey guys

Some good news, well for me atleast.

Seems like things are back in working order, got a couple of clicks from less than 20 impressions (thats more like it!)

Might be too early to tell though if its al back in working order.

Didnt get credited from the other couple days but oh well, I knew I wasn't just worrying for nothing!

Scrap that good news. Things are really bad again, having really low CTR and nothings changed besides adding many new content pages.

This sucks no idea what to do

From what I gather, Ernie isnt building 1-5 page mini sites but rather building them up with a view to becoming authoritys within a niche with 100 plus pages.

            100% Correct spot the ball

Plus spending $10 on too many domains kills a part of me each time

But seriously, I feel thats probably the safest way to do things concerning niche adsense sites and its a lot easier focusing on a few sites (not to say you couldn't eventually make 100 of these large sites, that would earn you a mint!)

Not that you would need 100 sites though. I did some calculating and research and one of the niches that I'm in, has about 80,000 different key phrases I could write about if I really wanted to! 80K pages on 1 site! Wouldnt that be crazy

IMO and from what I've done... pages = traffic and traffic = money

I think we are both thinking along the same lines with regards to building a niche up.

The niche I have just entered has crap loads of searches for hundreds of different terms, Why water your seo efforts down in a hundred niches when you can become King in one! ... and stay under the radar.

Think about it ... Build link wheels (variations) to your money pages, backlink the wheels that are passing juice on to your main site. Presto! Before you know it your main site PLUS your wheels are ranking first page, dominating page 1 with multiple sites.

Takes more work initially but if you want to be in for the long haul then its well worth the effort.

I just set up a few site last month and I monetize them with adsense. I think its still early for me to say anything but I am getting more views than clicks. It could be the way I have my ad blocks set up or could be something else who knows. Well I hope that this is not an adsense issue then I would be really worried. I am hoping to make a killing with these sites though if all goes well.
