Some niches will work better with Adsense and vice versa. You could even monetize with Affiliates and see how that works out. Also, you don't state how long you have been giving testing the monetization methods, but you definately want to give it some time to get a real grasp of whether its working on not.

Normally anything to do with legal advice - insurance, lawyers etc.

They have high payouts with adsense.

If you want to earn with Amazon, targeting physical goods when building a site is recommended, because you could also add some adsense in with Amazon.

I hear the Google *possibly* has a problem with mini sites. How do Amazon feel about a 1 page mini site?

Why create 1 page website for adsense or for amazon?
You should have at least several pages to call your page a web site

It's what all the "gurus" say - build 1 page websites, and money will flow.

People buy into it, and get burnt when they realise it doesn't work.

I have heard that before but I think things have changed recently. It's a lot safer to have more pages for any of your sites. There was a big effort by Google few months ago when they delisted many one page MFA sites. Of course you may argue that your site is not MFA but then again you have to realise that Google outsource some of this work to others and I've heard of legitimate sites (one page) being delisted.Morever having more pages just means better chance of ranking more keywords and getting more traffic don't you think.

My post was not refering to creation of Adsense mini sites but Amazon affliates. There have been lots of people banned from Adsense, one speculation is due to the sites appearing 'mini', just wondering if Amazon has a problem with it too?

(I am happy to create 2 pages, one for the product listings and info and another page for privacy/contact).

1 page sites do work very well. I am a newbie to all this but from experience they do have a positive effect. I was building loads of mini Adsense sites but read that they are frowned upon. So started going big with Adsense.

I know that if I had a lot of mini sites, I would be making more $ then the bigger site. For the time put in to these ventures, the return $ wise would have been far greater.

Everybody is different, for some people its a question of making the most money per man (or woman) hour put in-to it.

I am turning to Blogs, They get indexed quicker and are easier to maintain and there are tons of Wordpress themes out there all you have to do is plug in one with Adsense, Google many times approves Adsense accounts when people get a Blogger account from them.

Read a Blog on the net called "Website vs Blog" and I think you will be convinced.

I am currently with a company in Beta right now that is taking Wordpress to a higher level --- once they get the bugs worked out with their Super Affiliate program I will
setup a Blog just about them.

I've seen people earn with Amazon, using an autoblog, which has various automated posts being generated.

The quality is very poor though, and Google are clamping down on it.

If you're going to make a statement like that, at least try to back it up with some proof.

Amazon is better if you think your audience would click on ads for physical products (including books).

Google adsense is better for everything else.

I found Adsense to be better, infact I had a few sites and only 1 of them were making Amazon sales, meanwhile ALL of them were making money with Adsense.

I think adsense would consistently make money, while Amazon is a bit of a gamble sometimes.

Why restrict yourself to one monetisation method? Do what is best for the keyword. Split test it if you aren't sure. Being stuck in your ways might be limiting a lot of potential.

Don't throw out a keyword just because the Adsense CPC is low. It might be very lucrative if it is a product on Amazon or can be used to create a list...

I create micro-site based on products that rank in Google.

I monetize my sites with both Adsense and Amazon and from my results Amazon is working better for me, although I am making revenue from both platforms for each site, Amazon is out-earning Adsense.

    Hope that helps.

The answer to your question depends greatly on the price point of the item, as well as the additional content.

I've found success with expensive items ($1000 or more), the deal being even if I on'y sell 1 - 2 a month it's a decent comission. And the Adsense clicks on these items tend to be higher because they are higher priced.

Even more key thant he product is the site. Don't jsut do one page. Do a main product page, do some realted prodcut pages, and then do some information pages, all of it original content.

    Sample:

    Ironman 1850 Elliptical Trainer

Do a main product page for that where you describe features and benefits
Do some sub product pages for realted items, anything from parts to running shoes to book on running
Do some articles on the benefits of cardiovascular exercise, how to get started, testimonials, success stories, etc....
