Hello all. I am new here and have only been dabbling with blogging and SEO since August...and I do mean "dabbling". I've learned some stuff but clearly not enough.

I want to profit with adsense and I started a blog (haven't even worked on it much) about something I am pretty knowledgeable about and I have a fair amount of writing experience so I don't think that content is going to be a problem.

I chose a key phrase for the name of my blog and first blog post that has a fair amount of traffic with minimal competition. I thought it would be easy to rank for.

I purchased some automated social submission software as well as some rss submission software that I found through this site and they work rather well but here is my problem:

You can find my content via the FEEDAGG site on page one of Google by typing in the key phrase I was going after. This doesn't help me as FEEDAGG shows ALL of my content and their own adsense.

At first I thought, Oh well...it's just one post. But that's not the case. All posts that I add are getting added onto their page for all the world to see so there is no need for anyone to click on the link to my actual blog. (I am using Blogger and I have toyed with setting the number of posts to show per page and it doesn't help).

So I started another blog and changed the content for the above to pretty much, with a little intro, show links to my other blog and a couple other pages. That's doing me no good. I am getting no traffic from there.

Anyway, I searched this keyword the other day and finally found my direct blog on page three of Google. At the time I didn't see the FEEDAGG version on page one so I thought Great .... now I just need to move it up to page one. However, that direct link to my blog is gone again FEEDAGG version is back on page one.

I'm not sure what to do. It's entirely plausible that I'm doing something very wrong but I'm feeling a little ripped off. Anyone ever have anything like this happen? I can't figure out how to proceed.

I hope that makes sense. If any clarification is needed, please let me know and thank you so much if you can help.

Is it just a one-page blog?

I think if you add more pages to make it look like a website you'll be better off in the SERP's.

Hello. Thank you very much for your reply.

Yes, so far there is not much content. I got frustrated because of the hijack and started a new blog. Then I got hopeful when I saw my actual link on page three but that disappeared quickly.

I guess I will move the content from the newer blog over onto the old one that is already on page one through FeedAgg and see what happens.

I think the age of that other blog will be better for me in the long run (created last October) than the one I just started. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just starting to get the hang of this I think.

I'm really hesitant to submit to the RSS sites again though, especially FEEDAGG. I don't want more keywords getting hijacked...or do you think the addition of content will override that...there will be a ton by the time I am through. What do you think?

      I appreciate all input!

the site that runs your feed prob has more age, trust, pr, inlinks etc. so it naturally will overtake yours.

stick with the social submits and general link building until you get your page where you want it to and has some age, trust, inlinks etc.

you learned a crummy lesson but in the seo game experience trumps theory every time.

Oh for sure that site has more age and also has a great reputation. I wish there was some way to use that to my advantage.

      Thanks for your thoughts!
