Hey everyone, I haven't posted for quite a while, but I've noticed that there is no talk at all about PPC. Has everyone simply turned away from using it?

If so, why?

i seriously doubt that!!!!! but i will say as for my own efforts i have made pretty good results "NOT" using PPC. I am very big on going with that you know and i just don't know/understand ppc enough to mess with it.

i do know from messing around with it. it can be expensive if you dont know what you're doing.

PPC is alive and well. I love PPC and do not see it going away anytime soon. I am using other methods as well, but PPC is one of my main sources of traffic for my websites.

Same here. PPC can be a trip but once you understand it and your confidence grow, it's a great way of getting traffic you can control.

      Cheers

I use PPC, mostly with Adwords. Looking forward to the Yahoo and Microsoft Search alliance at the end of the year.

I think adding ppc campaigns with your organic seo efforts is just a good decision. Or you'll be missing out on a lot of potential money traffic and sales to your competitors.

Adwords has evolved a little and made it tougher on affiliate marketers who use lp's with affiliate links, but you gotta just adapt to their changes. Such as not letting them know you are using affiliate links.

      Nothing has happened to PPC.

What happened is the barrier to entry to be successful using it is getting increasingly difficult.

The problem I see with most internet marketers is that people are lazy or looking for a magic bullet solution.

Since it is much harder to make money with PPC, plus all the Google slaps and suspensions, they quit before they ever get started.

Also, if you don't have the guts to lose some money in the beginning to learn, most likely PPC is not for you.

So now you have all the Gurus telling people to run away from PPC and that is what's fueling the decline of talk on the subject.

I agree with you though, the talk has really died down lately and for good reason. Everybody is scared of PPC and the Gurus are only adding fuel to the fire.

I love PPC and all other forms of paid traffic. With all the fear in the marketplace right now, makes good for those of us who use it to our advantage.

That's what I was figuring. The Guru's seem to control where the efforts of IM go. It's good to hear that it is indeed still profitable though. I'm not afraid of losing money, because you really have to lose money in any campaign at the start. I feel like I'm about to crest the learning curve after nearly a year of working with Adwords.

Adwords is facing competition from other platforms of advertising such as Facebook, plety of fish etc, so people are busy exploring these new avenues of advertising. As the net grows and the way society interacts evolves, new websites and properties will be created, creating new forms and oppotunities for advertising.

There have been changes to Google certification but outside of that little has changed with PPC. Most experience IM understand and know PPC (no questions ;-)

Probably a lot of newer people are looking at other alternatives as others have mentioned, sooner or later a new make pounds on the penny miracle money maker will be back and then just like the fashion trends ppc will be the latest fad.
