How much development required for social backlinks

Hi all - I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on whether or not building relevant content on social media sites has any affect on the quality of the backlink or a backlinks ability to get indexed?

I have been building backlinks to a site for the last week via social media sites like squidoo and so forth; I have not been developing content for these properties, just very short introductions with a backlink and in some cases a second linkwheel link.

Obviously, adding more relevant content will help for traffic in general but that is not what I am curious about.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I think so, particular on the properties that use subdomains, because they are counted kind of like separate domains for that stuff... So the number of indexed pages on the domain will affect the link juice a bit imo.

It also helps to make sure that your page doesn't ever get deleted, cause inactive pages with little content are always more likely to go or get flagged on any network.
