Go to google.com and search for "loan calculator", a term that gets 246,000 EXACT MATCH searches per month and has a CPC of $4.73 in adwords:

loan calculator - Google Search

Checkout the #7 result, onlineloancalculator.org and take a look at his backlinks:

Site Explorer - Search Results

What do you see? DIRECTORIES! Nearly all his links (close to 90%) are from plain directories powered by the php link directory script.

The whole "directory submissions don't work" is probably the biggest myth out there but like most SEO myths, the people reciting it don't have a clue what their talking about.

So how about a free directory submitter?

Introducing uSubmit

  • Manual captcha entry option
  • Automatic captcha entry option
  • Local map support
  • 100% free

Just enter in your contact/website details, choose your categories, select the captcha solving option (in the "settings" menu) and you're ready to go!

uSubmit posts php link directory powered websites that use the javascript category which are higher quality than the standard 2,000 directory submission packages people sell.

If you have any suggestions or features, let me know and I'll implement them.

Yes but this guy is not submitting to a bunch of free directories- There is an impressive list of quality paid directories pointing to his site.

I think it's important to note that most people who mass submit to directories never get that facet of OFF Page SEO to work because:

(a). They never render a SEO Optimized submission
(b). They do not SPIN their titles, keywords or description
(c). Once approved, they never go back to get their links indexed and cached

The first mistake is usually forgiven proven by the fact that their submission is accepted. The second mistake is an easy way to be tagged as a spammer and the third mistake is unforgivable.

Not going back and getting your links indexed and cached is like someone writing you a check for $75k but never signing it.

Maybe submitting to quality directories can help but note that the website you said, has the keywords in its name (loan calculator). So its clear that it can rank higher with less backlinks. Any way thanks for software, i am going to try it.

Anybody else's antivirus flagging this as trojan infected? AVG Free says so for 4 of the programs from ugetlinks.c0m but it may just be AGV that's wrong.

Hmm, VirusTotal says most others think it's ok.

    Thanks,

    Appreciated!

Directory submission like any other links is ok, particularly if they stay indexed for years, then they will grow in value.
