Google problem with affiliate link

Hi

I'm promoting a clickbank product. So today I started creating backlinks to the affilate URL.

The problem is that when in Google enter the url as a search string then in the SERP I see the affiliate product listed. Clicking on this link in the SERP take me to the product page without my affiliate info - so if user buys the product I get nothing in return.

- Why is it so that when I do a search like this and click on the url my afffliate id is not in the url?
- Do google need some time so that the backlinks comes into help?
- Should I instead create another domain which I send all my link juice to. this domain will redirect the user to the affiliate url

any suggestions?

  • what do you mean with "backlinks to your affiliate URL"?

what URL do you enter in Google as search string?

You build links to your OWN sites with backlinks to rank your own sites - so ultimately your site will rank.

    • Mean backlink to the affiliate product. Lets say I'm promoting productA. At clickbank.com I got this affiliate url:
      www.productA.com/?hop=loginname

So today I started creating backlinks to the URL you see above.

When I enter the URL above in the search field of google. Then 1 listing in the SERP. Clicking on that URL take me to www.productA.com.
Strange it didn't take me to when that was what entered in the search field.

  • Don't build links to affiliate websites, build links to your own sites that feature affiliate links, that way you are safe with Google.
  • That is not your affiliate url for CB.
    CB urls look like http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net.
