But I was looking to see if anyone had any experience with this scenario.
Let's say you have a forum, a forum that has thousands of pages well ranked for very specific search terms (buying terms).
The thread in question might be years old and thus 'not active'.
As forums are absolutely terrible for converting to sales/revenue, what would be a good strategy for taking that well ranked forum page (for the specific term, let's say for argument's sake the term is 'do eyelashes ever grow back?') and redirecting - or somehow getting people to a landing page/domain where the possibility of generating a sale might be higher than it would be on the forum.
I suppose what I'm asking is, is it ever viable to 301 a well ranked page on one site to another domain that is set up specifically to convert better than the previous site. Obviously the content from the forum page would be moved to the new domain/page.
thanks in advance for any tips/experience.
