@CcKilian: That's a well rounded strategy. You should definitely be at the top of GOOG in a few weeks to a month. Just stay consistent and don't waver from your plan.

With respect to the articles, if you are looking for backlinks, mass submit that one article, besides publishing it on EZA, Article Base and Goarticles.
If you write content for web 2.0 sites, such as Squidoo or Hubpage, use them to backlink your site and the article in EZA. From the same page you can build links to both your articles and other web 2.0 sites and your main web.
Also use video.

What you are doing seems good.

I would also add some video marketing as well, especially if you can automate it.
I've found youtube helps a lot in getting sites indexed fast

see this way it will take so much time..instead of this use UAW, FTS , Linkvana, or AMA
any of service, these service cost you money but give you best results..see friend I m advising for these services cause I myself gives these service to so many cleints who are keeping 1st spot for serveral competitive keywords...see i am not advocating to take my service i am just suggesting you to go and try free version of FTS, and see results, if you find worthy then upgrade it..

see i have so many people who are using lots of mix combination for these services..see if you really want to do article marketing then you should try any of these..that would help you more.

Best part of these sites are, they are providing good quality backlinks..

Are you paying any attention to whether the web 2.0 sites / article directories you are submitting to are no follow?

When you say profile links, are these forum profiles, or other web 2.0 membership sites? Are you checking them for no follow? Are you creating more than one profile on the same site?

For forum profiles I will be using Terry and Tom's 'Backlink Blackbelt Monthly', so high PR Forum Profiles.

In terms of the article directories, hitting up the big ones including ezine. Also considering using Icansoft ArticleBot to hit a lot more directories, for more backlinks. Not sure though, as most of them are pretty low quality... any thoughts on that?

Web 2.0, all dofollow is the plan.

I have this all outsourced, so someone will be taking care of it for me... which will be a huge relief! I've considered using UAW, Linkvana, etc... but for the cost of outsourcing all the tasks I've mentioned, it's less than a monthly subscription to a lot of those services. So I'll see how things go from there...

I have to agree with cck for this one. Just don't forget other method like bookmarking sites (I use onlywire), video sites (I use tubemogul) and RSS submissions.

Blog commenting and forum posts will certainly help, but any gains you see from them are usually temporary. Like anything you've got to be diversified with your link building to maintain a long-term position.

One of the most powerful methods you can use is creating links on high pr pages. If you know what you are doing this is much easier then it sounds. I am not talking about high pr domains, but the actual pages that have the pr.

It took me 4 months to get ranked on my top keywords. I suggest you do everything you can find that allow you to anchor your keywords with your URL. But u have a good plan but dont expect quick result.

Unfortunately, these serves great only if you have the content to spring your money site up. if you use duplicate or near-duplicate,and its bad quality, it can be flagged down and conversely you are tagged as Spam. which may send signal to other article sites. not only content is king. your reputation too.

Are the profiles you are doing relevant? Are they from the same niche as yours? If not they can hurt your rankings. NB: if you fill out a profile on a medical forum and your niche is internet marketing, you are wasting your time, and they could be harmful. I'm talking purely in comparison to your competition. Who is going to rank better, the person who uses relevant backlinks in their linking strategy, or the guy who uses irrelevant ones?
