If you're just starting out and have no $$$ to pay for software or even outsource you can always do the work yourself...it's really not that hard...all you need to do is be organized...

here is how I myself do it.

Please note...this is just me...you can chose to do it different if you want.

DAY ONE

Let's say you are targeting the "Real Estate" niche...you will need a bunch of articles...they can be PLR articles.

(1.) If you don't already have some content on your site, go ahead and take one of the PLR articles and post it on your site (remember to re-write it so that it is 100% original).

The articles you post on your site must be ORIGINAL so that you can get your site ranked.

(2.) Second step on day one is to open a Squidoo account.

I normally use the website's name (title) as the user name when creating my Squidoo account.

After you have created your account, go ahead and create a Squidoo Lens on real estate.

Make sure to use your keyword, which would be "real estate" in this case, in the title.

For your Squidoo Lens content, you are going to be using one of your PLR articles.

Remember, since we are only looking for backlinks, the articles that you post outside your site don't have to be 100% unique. Just modify them a little bit.

After you have done that, go ahead and add a link to your site in the Squidoo Lens article using an anchor text linked to your target keyword.

Done that?

Good.

Now add some Squidoo modules. One thing to note here is that it doesn’t really matter which Squidoo modules you use...you can use any. The important thing here is to just do it.

We are still on day one.

Next up...

(3.) Create a HubPages account.

Create a username on HubPages that matches your website's title.

For your HubPages content, you are going to be using one of your PLR articles. Remember, since we are only looking for backlinks, the articles that you post outside your site don't have to be 100% unique. Just modify them a little bit.

Important thing to do here is to put a link to your website anywhere in the middle of the content.

To avoid reducing the effectiveness of this method, you will only put one link to your site.

That's it. Only one link.

Then publish your HubPages content.

Next up...

(4.) Build a Wordpress.com blog.

Create a username on Wordpress.com that matches your website's title.

For your Wordpress.com content, you are going to be using one of your PLR articles.

Remember, since we are only looking for backlinks, the articles that you post outside your site don't have to be 100% unique. Just modify them a little bit.

Again, don't forget to put an anchor text (with your keyword as anchor) somewhere within your article linking to your site.

One thing to note with Wordpress.com is that they don't allow overt advertisements/linking to affiliate sites so it's important that your site doesn't look like an affiliate site.

Next up...

(5.) Create a Blogger blog.

Go ahead and create a blogger blog with the same title as your website or the keyword you are trying to rank for.

For your Blogger blog content, you are going to be using one of your PLR articles.

Remember, since we are only looking for backlinks, the articles that you post outside your site don't have to be 100% unique. Just modify them a little bit.

Again, don't forget to put an anchor text (with your keyword as anchor) somewhere within your article linking to your site.

Next up...

(6.) Build a Wetpaint.com site.

Remember...this is still day one...

And this is the 6th thing you're doing (or your freelancer is doing, if you've outsourced this) on day one.

So what are we going to do?

You are going to create a free Wetpaint site with the same title as your website or the keyword you are trying to rank for.

For your Wetpaint.com content, you are going to be using one of your PLR articles.

Remember, since we are only looking for backlinks, the articles that you post outside your site don't have to be 100% unique. Just modify them a little bit.

Then you are going to put an anchor text (with your keyword as anchor) somewhere within your article linking to your site.

Next up...

(7.) Sign up and join Gather.com

Gather.com is a website where people post articles with links to things that interest them on the web.

How perfect for us, right?

Submit one of your real estate articles to Gather.com

Then go ahead and put an anchor text (with your keyword as anchor) somewhere within your article linking to your site.

Next up...

(8.) Sign up with 43things.com

This is a site where people come together and list their goals, achievements, dreams in life etc.

And along with all those things, they are allowed to post links to resources online which help them achieve what it is they are after.

BINGO!

You may have to modify your article to fit the 43things.com format but don't let that stop you or make you ignore that site.

Just do it. Your bank account will thank you later.

AND THAT IS THE END OF DAY ONE.

DAY TWO

Today we are going to be pinging the articles we posted on day one.

Pinging (in layman's language) is basically you telling Google, Yahoo and Bing, "hey Mr. Big search engine...I've published new content. Come check it out and index my site."

We are first going to start by re-visiting the sites where we created and submitted articles to on day one.

The first site we are going to visit is Squidoo.

On Squidoo we are going to do two things.

We are going to get the URL of our article and the URL of the article's feed (aka the RSS feed)

Where is the RSS feed on Squidoo?

On Squidoo, it is located right on top of the article.

Make a note of the feed URL.

Now also make a note of the actual URL to your article.

Using a service like autopinger.com, pingomatic.com, pingoat.net and pingmyblog.com go ahead and ping your article. (PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL ONLY USE ONE OF THESE PING SERVICES, SINCE THEY ALL PING THE SAME SITES!!! DON'T GO AROUND USING ALL THESE SERVICES FOR THE SAME ARTICLE!)

Done that?

Good. Now go ahead and go to your HubPages site.

On your HubPages hub, you will notice your author account has an RSS feed option in that little box on the right side of your profile page.

Make a note of the feed URL.

Now also make a note of the actual URL to your article.

And again using a service like autopinger.com, pingomatic.com, pingoat.net and pingmyblog.com go ahead and ping your article.

DO THE EXACT SAME THING (PINGING) FOR YOUR:

- Wordpress.com site
- Blogger blog
- Wetpaint.com
- Gather.com and
- 43things.com

DAY THREE

Today is all about social bookmarking. What were are going to be doing today is bookmarking all those articles that we have on our sites.

(1.) Start with Digg.com.

Sign up for an account. You want to choose a username and a password that you will remember. And preferably in the real estate niche (or whatever niche you're into).

Once your account on Digg is created, go ahead and start bookmarking ALL your sites.

You are going to bookmark your own website, your HubPages hub, your Squidoo lens, your Wordpress.com page, your Blogger blog page, your Wetpaint page, your gather.com page and your 43things.com page.

(2.) Next up...Twitter.

Sign up for a new account. If you already have an account on Twitter, don't use that one.

Just go ahead and sign up for a new one. With your niche as the username.

Then go ahead and start bookmarking your own website, your HubPages hub, your Squidoo lens, your Wordpress.com page, your Blogger blog page, your Wetpaint page, your gather.com page and your 43things.com page.

(3.) Next up...Yahoo Buzz

Yahoo is very popular, as you know and growing in popularity is Yahoo Buzz.

And absolutely millions of people everyday visit Yahoo Buzz.

Go head and link all your pages on this site. Your own website, your HubPages hub, your Squidoo lens, your Wordpress.com page, your Blogger blog page, your Wetpaint page, your gather.com page and your 43things.com page.

(4.) Next up...Technorati.

Sign up for a new account. If you already have an account on Technorati, don't use that one.

(5.) Next up...Stumbleupon

Sign up for a new account. If you already have an account on Stumbleupon, don't use that one.

To avoid repeating the same thing over and over, you are going to do the EXACT same thing (social bookmarking) with these other sites as well:

(6.) Delicious, Kaboodle, Reddit, Mixx, Slashdot, Clipmarks, Newvine, Faves, Blogmarks

DAY FOUR

Now what we are going to do is link all the sites that we own together.

Don't worry, this won't take long.

WE are going to connect the sites using our keyword as the "connector"

(1.) The first thing that we will do is put up a link from HubPages to Squidoo, then move on to the next step.

(2.) The next step: Now go ahead and link from Squidoo to your page in Wetpaint.com.

(3.) After you have done that, go ahead and link Wetpaint.com to your Wordpress.com blog

(4.) Still with me? Good...now you need to link from Wordpress.com to your Blogger blog.

(5.) Getting the hang of this, are you? Okay...now link your Blogger blog to your 43things.com page.

(6.) Almost there...and you haven't even broken a sweat yet! Now what you're gonna do is link your 43things.com page to your Gather.com page.

(7.) The very last thing you're going to do today is linking your Gather.com page to your HubPages.

That's it for day four in your SEO backlinking strategy.

DAY FIVE

(1.) Post 3 articles on your site. Remember...the articles on your own website have to be more unique than anywhere else that you are posting content to.

(2.) Post another 3 articles on Hubpages.

(3.) Another 3 articles go to your Squidoo Lens.

(4.) Put 3 articles on your Wordpress.com blog.

(5.) Post 3 articles on your Blogger blog.

(6.) Post 3 articles on WetPaint.com

(7.) Put another 3 articles on Gather.com

(8.) And then last, but not least, post 3 articles on 43things.com

DAY SIX

On day six, you are again going to bookmark your articles on the social bookmark sites that you used on day 3.

You are going to repeat the exact process as you did in day 3 with one article from each and every one of your sites.

(5.) Next up...Stumbleupon

Sign up for a new account. If you already have an account on Stumbleupon, don't use that one.

To avoid repeating the same thing over and over, you are going to do the EXACT same thing (social bookmarking) with these other sites as well:

(6.) Delicious, Kaboodle, Reddit, Mixx, Slashdot, Clipmarks, Newvine, Faves, Blogmarks

DAY SEVEN

Pick another niche and repeat all of the above.

~

You do that...and you will rank like crazy!

Great suggestion for day to day seo campaign, but I do have my own format. Yours is like a link wheel.

interesting you don't use traditional article marketing (EZA,Go,dashboard...)
the link wheel, I heard from many is ineffective when you link directly to the money site.

PR jumped from 1 to 3 but I really don't worry about that too much....what I want is TRAFFIC...and this gets it for me.

Thanks for sharing. I have a niche site in mind and I am going to give this a try.
It is a challenging site for a given keyword phrase that I can get the exact domain name on (.com) that gets about 20,000 queries a day and has no one in the top 10 for that exact query BUT everyone in the top 10 is close to the query (2 out of the 3 words in the phrase) and are PR3 and above. SO I am going to experiment and see if I can get top 10 against PR4 sites because I will have exact Keyword phrase in the domain, title, desc etc along with some quick relevent linking...

That is a pretty decent plan you've got. I'm sure a lot of less experienced website owners, bloggers, and businesses will benefit from your "guide."

People just need to be aware that all of the steps you've listed, will become a full time job to maintain properly. Signing up for those sites is an amazing ideas, so long as they have time to maintain and monitor each.

Id skip the days spent pinging and bookmarking, and build more articles - and put the articles on some articles directories - with links to the $$$ site and as you describe in your linking plan.

Then you might want to get hold of some backlinking methods and drive backlinks to ALL the properties.

This is an excellent guide. It is sort of like the cliffs notes version of the 30 day challenge in 7 days.

Out of curiosity, what is the range of traffic that you get after doing this and what do you do after day 7?

The flow of traffic is a steady flow....not an avalanche...but a very steady flow.

after day 7, you just start over, but with a new niche!

this method is perfect for medium to low competition...you will rank if the competition is low.

don't go with one word KW's...you want long tail KW's (make sure the KW's have traffic - for you to make $$$ with)

Thanks for sharing this method. I have a question on using hubpages. I understand that hubpages are nofollow unless your profile score reaches a certain no. (75 I think). Before this no. is reached all your links are first nofollowed. Also you must have a certain no. of hubpages before the flag to dofollow is turned to your favor. How does this affect your link building using hub pages.

This sounds like a good plan and I would guess adding backlinks would make it even more effective. A few quick questions:

    * Would you add backlinks to not just the money site, but also to the article pages (i.e. Squidoo, hubpages, blogger..etc.)?
    * What is a PLR article?

    Thanks!

I agree.. for seo, most bookmarking has turned into a waste of time. I haven't seen any benefit in a while, and while digging into things to update my processes I noticed that most of the "dofollow" BM sites are now all nofollowed. With no seo benefit, I see little reason to do it - the traffic I've gotten from BM sites never was really quality traffic.

However, I do ping when I build/add anything - it only takes a second and it still get's googlebot to come a running very quickly

Just curious to know how long does it take after you do this process until your site gets a decent rank?

What is the most search quantity do you target for this process? And can you get your site on the first page, especially the top five for anything with decent competition? Can you elaborate on this point?

While I don't put a lot of faith in the competition factor when deciding on keywords, I believe more in the strength of the first page sites. Just how do you judge what keywords you can target with this process and make it to the first page of Google, preferably above the fold.

Thanks for sharing this. I look forward to your response.

This is a pretty good list, although for SEO i usually look way further than just seven days.

You cannot go all out in 7 days and bookmark til you are blue in the face, and then forget the site.

Even after months and months, i still do occasional bookmarking and article submission on some of my better sites. I also signed up with Seolinkvine and articleranks and submit there.

I think its better to REALLY keep it very low profile the first week and the first months. If anything, SEO is long term....not something you do in 7 days with "brute force"
