Getting a squeeze page ranked...

Hello Warriors,

I have been working on building a list for the past few weeks now, and have been having a lot of trouble getting my squeeze page ranked for my primary keyword...

I haven't even been able to crack the top 20 of google, and the competition, in my opinion, on the first page is very beatable.

Herein lies my query...instead of just having a one page site, should I put content on some different pages of the site so that google views it more favorably?

Again, I just wanted this to be a one-page opt-in but am willing to try other methods...

Would it be worth setting up a blog and have a very prominent opt-in form on the sidebar?

Speaking of blogs are you commenting on related blogs and getting some incoming links to your squeezepage?

Also what style of squeeze page are you using? The affiliate silver bullet team provide a specific google landing page that has an article underneath the opt-in form - I assume this would help you SEO ranking without hurting your opt-in conversions?

I build backlinks every day with blog commenting, pinging, social bookmarking, article submissions to ezines(with those articles spun and submitted to other directories).

I also use web 2.0 properties to build backlinks.
