Google Adwords going to a page that redirects to Clickbank

Hi,

I have a €75 adwords coupon I want to try out on something and I have just set up a php redirect page at my domain which sends the user to a clickbank product I am promoting.

Is there any problem with having the adwords go to my domain which immediately redirects to the clickbank product? My domain name matches the product I am promoting.

Thanks in advance,
Martin

You shouldn't have a problem doing that I had a domain name that I masked and it went to a clickbank product, but I only ran adwords for the $50 I invested and when I didn't make a sale I quit adwords and I starting marketing other ways instead.

Well I have a £50 coupon and a €75 coupon to try out so nothing to lose really. I have written articles on my niche but I'm waiting for them to be approved.

I'm lucky though because my domain name is very similar to the product domain name (not a typo version or anything, just in exactly the same part of this particular niche) so I'm hoping it could get really targeted traffic.

Anyone else got any experience of this?

    Hi icun,

I also did this a while ago and my ad got few clicks on the first week and sadly not got any conversion. Later the week all my keywords dropped from Quality score 6 to 1 and shows rarely due to poor quality score. It all depends on the landing page, the problem that i faced is my landing page is an video squeeze page. So taking this into consideration plz check the quality of your landing page before you start your campaign.

    I hope this make sense

    Regards,
    Manoj

Well 'my' landing page is the clickbank product page as it redirects immediately....or would google count my redirect script as the landing page?

The product landing page seems excellent, has lots of content, some videos etc. and is the most popular product in this area on clickbank with a high gravity. The product has a brand name like "xxxxx training". If I set up a campaign only to appear for that exact search term then it would probably be people who are actively searching for that and looking to buy. Would this be a good idea or would my ad just get overshadowed by the search results?

I can post the non-affiliate link to the sales page if anyone wants to see if it's effective. The commision is almost $50 per sale so, I'd probably want to be getting at least 2 sales per $50 spent as a conversion rate.

If the product owner uses PPC, you'll be competing against them, so
make sure the affiliate agreement doesn't forbid you from bidding on that term.

Ok fine Give it a try and hope everything will work fine. First run your campaign for a week and with the profit scale up your campaign.

      Regards,
      Manoj

simple answer = no, you can not use slim shady redirects or masked URLs. do so at your own peril.

the terms state clearly not to to use misguided URLs, the display URL me be where you land, not a hop skip and jump away with a defacto looking URL.

Ok, thanks for the info. Can I directly link to my affiliate ready clickbank URL instead?

i am sure you can only use one coupon , check the terms. having a coupon in adwords is like buying a lottery ticket, you may get lucky, i guess most do not.

as for direct link, you need to first check the vendor allows it, and then you need to pass g guidelines and once you have done that you need to ensure it fires for a good q score, and most fail at that big time.

if only life was as easy as it tells me in the glossy magazine I'd be happy.

Google doesn't like it if the destination domain name and display domain name are different.

Google also doesn't like if the destination and display domain name are same, but the destination domain redirects to a different domain name.
