Adsense - How to estimate future earnings?

Good Morning,

*in case you want to get straight to the question, and not really want to read through my nonsense, here is the question
* Is there a way to 'test the water' with each niche, to see how much you will be expected to earn through adsense?

I have been lurking these forums for months and just recently i've decided to start taking action, thus today I joined. I have worked in online advertising for several years but now I want to do something with more input/reward such as online marketing and be in control of my time.

I have looked at many monetisation methods and finding niches isn't really an issue, in fact i've found some low hanging fruits, low competition and enough traffic to feed me each week (across several niches). I have been mainly using GAKT for my research, coupled with seospyglass and seoquake to check competition etc.

GAKT is showing 'estimate' max bids of around $1-$5 for most of the niches I am going after. However, my understanding of how ad serving actually works and research indicates that these aren't what I will be expecting to earn per click. Now I know adsense may not necessarily be the most lucrative monetisation method and have others I can slot instead of.

My question: Is there a way to 'test the water' with each niche, to see how much you will be expected to earn through adsense?

It would be great to hear some thoughts. Thanks for reading

Wasn't too hopeful but if you never ask, you never get eh? Seems it was just wishful thinking. I will get these sites up, optimise the traffic and then draw my own conclusions. But if anyone else has any previous experience with entering a new niche area, please add your input about how the cpc started out, and progressed (or if it didn't).

    Sure you can.

    1. Create adwords campaign for the keywords, make sure it's search campaign.
    2. See how many impressions you get.
    3. See how much you have to pay before you get clicks.
    4. Your Avg. Bid x (Daily Impression x Avg. CTR x Avg. SERP CTR) = estimated earnings.
