Hi all, since page speed has now officially become a Google ranking factor, I thought I'd share some cool diagnostic tools that I have been using. They are free.

Well, fist of all, there's
http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools
but you already knew that, right? If not, a GWT account is a must for all serious webmasters.

Then there is
Page Speed Home
-- a free open source Firefox / Firebug plugin from Google itself.

Then there's Yahoo's Yslow:
Yahoo! YSlow for Firebug
-- a Firefox / Firebug plugin from Yahoo.

Additionally, these two offer useful online tests and disagnistics:

Pingdom Tools

Pagetest - where web sites go to get FAST!

I hope someone finds these useful. Enjoy!

Thanks for the share mate, this will keep me busy for a while. I'll try to play around with it since I haven't tried them before.

Thanks for sharing these very useful tools. Any idea how Google can tell how fast each of our websites measure up to page load up speed since it's one of the factors it uses in its algorithm for ranking now?

You are very welcome, guys, but that's what the Thanks buttons is for. It is located right below a post to the right (next to the Quick Reply button).
