Bing over google?

I don't know what it is but whatever i have been doing it matches right up with what bing wants.

What i mean is, when i type in my keyphrases on google my webpage doesnt show up till about the 8th page. And it is no where to be found on yahoo or msn.

But on bing when you type in my keyphrase i am on the 6th spot on the first page.. Ranked 6th out of over 69 Million results!!

When i saw this my jaw dropped! I dont understand these search engines sometimes, i thought google owned bing.

  • @tolson: I think you have the concept a little wrong.. Even your webpage ranks 6th in google, it doesn't really mean anything unless ur traffic are all using bing to search.
  • I wander how many searches are done on bing compared to google.
Any way to get those stats?
  • Try looking at this site
comScore Says Bing And Yahoo Gained Market Share In May. Or Have They?

it shows 66% google, 16% for yahoo, 10% for bing. That should be quite accurate as I've seen many similar data.
  • haha yeah too bad the majority of the searches dont come from bing! lol
  • The answer is simple. You're spamming.

Bing has terrible filters when it comes to recognizing people's intention to manipulate the serps. I can always get on first page for low to medium competition keywords by unleashing a few of my software and leaving them to do their job.

This can actually be a good strategy. I know some people that are going after high searched keywords and using spam or near to spam techniques to show up only in bing. It's not incredibly profitable but on the other hand it does not use a lot of resources or require specialized knowledge to pull it off.
  • Because so few people bother optimizing for Bing and Yahoo and devote their efforts solely to Google, I have discovered on several occasions that some of my websites are in #1 or at least near top position for many of my keywords, yet I hadn't even noticed because I was only paying attention to Google myself.

Despite that, however, I had been monitoring my analytics and not noticed a substantial amount of traffic coming from either, despite being in top positions, so I would say it's hardly worth paying attention to anyways.
