Hi guys, i have been adding content and soing all the usual SEO work like backlinks for my blog but i dont seem to be attracting visitors.

where have i gone wrong? any help would be greatly appriciated

    • Also - you're in a really high competition niche. You need to do some serious keyword research to find those low competition, long tail keywords otherwise you'll never get up the Google rankings.

      Remember - if you write a blog about "limbo dancing in My Small Village", it's easy to get to position one in Google and get any traffic that happens to be searching for that term. If you write a blog about "Make Money Online" there are literally zillions of sites, many established for a long time, competing or the same niche.

      You need to find a USP (unique selling point - or at least, low competition keyword or two)

      Or, establish a killer reputation so that people are keen to read what's in your sig file.
    • Thanks Alexa, for your honest opinion, i aint even getting people to the blog to read the word cash to be honest.

      i am still learning and i am sure i will get it right one day, you got to start somewhere i suppose.

  • Show me some of the examples of your backlinks. So that I can tell you what is wrong with you.
  • You haven't been at it long enough. It takes months to build a small following, years to build a large one. Just keep plugging.

    • its very frustrating TBH, i have spent months doing all the squidoo's and blog linking even all the directories, the backlinks dont show my hard work over the past months, you also have to put into account all the work i done on the main site taking away /blog the blog is a new idea, i have worked very hard marketing my main page not the best page i know but i did get a page rank 2 eventually, but it still does not bring in enough traffic

      I am reaching for the big DELETE button as i type. Noooo stop it i shall not give up : )

  • Just be patient it takes time to get exposure to your blogs, just keep doing promotion also don't post too much about affiliate products, write a post that gives value for the readers not some advertisement.

    • when you say long tail keywords is this basically a sentence within your post/article? and not the title of your post?

  • ok i just did some home work on your site and your back links and this is what i have come up...
    you have 819 Total Links from 74 Unique Domains

    most of your dofollow links have a very low or no page rank.

    also the few high dofollow Page rank links that you have are not relevant to your site (Google does take that into account)

    so i guess my two cents is this... your link building efforts are being spent on the wrong kind of backlinks

    try to find more relevant places to get your links from.
    make sure your links are dofollow

    its good to have a mix of nofollow and do follow links as it looks more natural to google but you want more dofollow rather than nofollow.

    And btw what sorts of backlinking are you doing at the moment?

    Anchor text? and are you also submitting to article directories and blogs or ...?

    • I have tried everything i have read so far i think i am just unlucky lol, to be honest i think i am trying to much and not been selective enough about how i market the website.

      i dont know what to try next if i am been honest, link building just dont seem to work for me plus i have now relised i am using the wrong keywords anyone want to buy a blog lol?

      I wont give up i must keep trying my real job is not doing to well lately i need to find a replacement
