Article Directories that actually get indexed

So I know there's a LOT of article marketers here, and I am not an expert in that field yet! Hopefully some of you with experience could shed some light on something for me.

Articles are good to submit around for both direct traffic and backlinks. If I have an article I will usually put it on my blog and then submit it to a few directories.

My question is this...

What directories actually have enough PR to get your articles ranked? In my experience, a lot of directories out there just don't have enough ranking power to get all their pages indexed, so if you take the time to submit your article to them it basically does nothing.

From my tests, I've found that Ezinearticles.com, sooperarticles.com, and articlesfactory.com do a pretty good job of getting every single article indexed.

But on the other hand some popular places like Goarticles and articledashboard just don't seem to have the power and none of my articles get indexed.

Now I know that I can just build some backlinks to the other articles to get them indexed, but truthfully I'm not going to do that. If I'm going to take the time to build backlinks they are going to be to my site, not the directory.

So does any *experienced* article marketers out there have a list of sites that they submit their articles to that actually get them indexed?

Would be greatly appreciated!
Tyson

P.S. I searched around and could find no such list as of yet, all I find is "Here's a list of the top 50 directories" which doesn't say much at all.

Along with the ones you've mentioned I usually have good success with article base.

ezine is probably the best in terms of overall quality. That is most likely due to the fact that articles are individually approved. I'd be interested to see if other sites provide more traffic overall with non manual approval.

  • I use EzineArticles pretty much exclusively BECAUSE they are without a doubt the best article submission site out there. They are well indexed and have lots of people republishing their content (and therefore your links). I occasionally use GoArticles as I think they are probably the 2nd best submission site out there with a large publishing network... Other than that, I don't waste my time with the others.

you bring up a valid issue.. a lot of people are spending time on sites that do not get indexed. I see it on a lot of the social bookmarking sites - most of them are not very deeply indexed.

ideamarketers and article alley usually gets indexed within 10 days or so of posting content. There are a couple more directories out there that also gets indexed and rank well depending on the niche.

And depending on your article marketing game plan, you are leaving a lot of money on the table if you are only posting to ezines.

Well so far I've got a list comprised of EzineArticles...hah

Articlesbase and articlealley are both nofollow, so no link juice coming from those sites. Not sure about ideamarketers. I've submitted a lot of articles to Goarticles, and hardly any get indexed.

So...EZA it is I guess. There's got to be more out there!

    EzineArticles does really well.

However, it depends on the competition and how much competition yu have for keywords.

You could use Squidoo or Hubpages and still outperform EzineArticles - it depends on the competition.

I have also experienced that some popular sites take a lot of time to index your site.

Thanks for the big list Cupid, I know articlesbase is nofollow, have you had a chance to look at the other ones and see if their passing link juice or not?
