If you knew inside and out that you could get a website into the #1 spot for it's given keywords what would you do with that site?

Adsense?
Affiliates?
Sell your own product?

A significant amount of the Internet marketing population knows how to do this. Why? Because all the information that you need is out there. You are just not acting on it.

What will you do with a #1 ranking? Well, monetize the traffic that it brings of course! It does not matter what path you wish to take. You can try on page advertising, product marketing, list building and affiliate marketing. Just monetize the traffic and get some sales. That should be your goal. Else, you will not be in Internet marketing to begin with.

I have a better question for you. So you have started this thread, and I suppose you will get a bunch of short one-line replies, as always happens these forums, so that people can plug their signature link. So some will say "AdSense is good" and some will say "You can make good money with Affiliates" and some will say "If you have a good product that sell it, I sell a product and it's good."

So what could you meaningfully do with all this information?!

Mmm, it sounds like you "can earn more" by spending 40 times more effort? What's the magic in that?

        Thanks for all the replies....

I never said that I couldn't get to the top of Google for my keyword. =)

I've been spending a lot of time learning everything I could get my hands on for SEO and even tinkered with a few blogger blogs to make a few bucks via Adsense.

I'm ready to full scale with my process but from what I've read alot of people that rely soley on Adsense have spent a lot of time building their sites up only to have accounts banned for crazy stuff.

I'm wanting to create a good mixed portfolio of income streams so that in case my Adsense account gets banned for some odd reason I won't be set back on a drastic level.

With that said, do you that the majority of people today use Adsense ads mixed with affiliates?

Hi, I have a few websites/blogs, and for 3 of them I am on page 1 of Google for my main search term (unfortunately not #1 though!). I am monetizing these sites with Affiliate Programs (ebay, shareasale, clickbank, amazon...) plus AdSense - as I also believe it to be a good mix.
To be considered too would be dropshipping, I think.

Good deal....thanks for the helpful info....yeah I think that I will be going with a good mix....seems adsense is okay but in the long run can't be dependable for a full time job...that is my goal for now....start small and quit my day job once my internet biz requires more day time work from myself.

With a big enough budget, you could get top for any keyword... And with enough time.. However, anyone with basic knowledge can get top for a 'useful' keyword which can generate income to help with shopping bills or similar... Then you can expand on this and look to supplement your income further or generate a full time income from the organic SERPS.

I would get a few sponsors and earn myself enough money that I could support myself and unchain from the 9 to 5 jobs that have been slowly destroying me!

    Hey, you asked

My current site would never earn me enough to do that, though XD

My thoughts exactly. If I could do it with any keyword every time, I would definitely put up enough sites to retire and outsource different aspects so no one would have ever piece of the puzzle.

Then I would take my baby girl to Hawaii and live happily ever after

Very odd question, depends on what the keyword was. I'm not sure what kind of responses you were looking for. All in all make money whatever works for that keyword. But if you have to ask such a question, I would bet you cant get the top spot you want. Hopefully I'm wrong.

What I think is that these keywords have really tough competition and to achieve the #1 rank will be a quite difficult process but not un-achievable, firstly I would like to know that have you checked the competition on the keywords, have checked that these keywords are the right keywords for your business, to attract traffic, do you have any keyword in the url. if not research on these as well as did you check all on page tags are properly placed
