I've been working on a blog for about a year.... It was actually a year old a few days ago.... gradually posted content, etc. It was a very tight niche. I was making aprox. 150 to 250 a month on it..... I was very proud of it... woke up the other day to find out that Google had stopped sending traffic. The site wasn't banned... most of the blogs pages are indexed... I didn't do anything shady or blackhat.... just lost my ranking for all lthe keywords that I once ranked for... Yes, lost ALL the keywords that I once ranked for. Has anyone experienced this, is there any hope for this blog? I am so glad that I collected email addresses... I have collected about 95 (after unsubscribes)... which send some traffic.. but not nearly as many. I made good money considering I only averaged 40 uniques a day to this blog... but it is a very tight niche and it is something that I had been interested in... so I made a blog out of it.... it was actually based on personal experiences... If I visit semrush.com it shows the keywords I once ranked for.... I guess their databases haven't been updated once. So frustrating.

Are you ranking at all? That is, are you anywhere in google's index at all? What about yahoo & bing?

So sorry to hear about this, I know what it is like.

I have been "slapped" by google. I did something dumb though lol. I fixed it, contacted them and a few weeks later they reinstated me. Since then I have been on the straight and narrow and google has been treating me well... FOR NOW!

It's all part of the recent algorythm change that Google recently initiated. Check out "mayday update" and you will find more information on it.

Ever since late May and early June my site ranks have gone up up up. Not that I expect it to last. But what is weird is I am a major n00b at SEO and didn't employ many techniques outside of advertising on forums that allow it, trading links with similar sites {have done that for years} creating some videos, and other pretty simple stuff that has been mentioned as good for promotion, on this and digital point.

I would think something else is going on here though if Higgin's sites dropped so far off the radar they can't barely be found. I just thought of something..Have you checked your backlinks? Maybe a few of them wither dropped your link or went down. That can affect rank of even an older site.
