It is much easier to understand sales & human psychology than the Google SEO algorithm...

Over the past 3-4 years I have been hungry for every kind of information and I have consumed anything I could get my hands on. I have applied many of them and have made money with different methods and strategies.

Now looking back, it seems that the sales, copywriting and persuasion psychology books were the best investment of my time. Because after 50 years, we are still going to be craving for things which are scarce and will respond to all the basic triggers.

But link wheels, .edu backlinks, web 2 properties and all the other SEO strategies may not exist. We have to learn something new everytime.

Your thoughts?

    Great perspective my friend.

What you are talking is difference between operating level...
SEO is on tactical level where is Copy is on strategic Level.

Tactics sometime work and sometime stop working....
But it is the strategy which is long term...

BTW SEO strategy can also be long term...if one focus on white hat,
quality content with natural related backlinks... after sometime you have
a site which is here to stay....

    Regards,
    Mohsin

They're two different disciplines. One is psychology and the other is statistics. Where people run into trouble is trying to humanize the statistics, as in "How can I get Google to love my site" or vice versa, as in "How many people to I need on my list to make $5000 a month".

I fully agree. If you look at some of the most successful marketers out there, you will notice that many of them make millions a year by reaching the people first. Shockingly enough most of those same marketers also don't spend too much time with SEO because they don't need it.

Look at guys like Eben Pagan, I don't see his sites in the top 10 on anything in google but the guy brings in 20 million a year with "Double your dating" alone.

SEO to me is like a supplement. When you start working out usually what you will do is buy whey protein in order to help speed up muscle recovery but if all you do is take whey protein and ignore your training you will not get very far. SEO helps your business but should not become your buisness (unless your a SEO company haha!).
