Client and Adwords - Do they open up their account first?

Currently, I do organic SEO for clients. Just wondering how I can go about using adwords for a client ( I have my own personal adwords account used for just me ). Should I ask the client to open an account for himself? Then how do I go about connecting into his account besides asking him for his login and PW? I know there is a management system - I forget what it is.

Yes champ, look up the mcc option, my client center, you will need a new email address from memory to set this up.

once that has been done you can then ask the client for the account id in the top right, this will then connect your client to that mcc. you can then edit the account but not access personal details, and one or both parties can cut ties if needed by disconnecting the partnership.
