Hey all, I am new to the whole IM thing and am starting out with a 0 investment. Found an awesome free sub domain host that works with wordpress (byethost), just curious if google will look down somewhat on a site hosted on a sub-domain?

Thanks guys, if it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't anywhere near as close to making money as I think I am now!

    Do a Google search for "make money online" (very highly searched phrase)

    What is the very first site you see there? (as of June 20, 2010)

    That should answer your question

    That really isn't a free "hosting" site, more like a free "posting" site.

    I am not so sure a free 'hosting' company would rank so well, as I have never seen an example of that.

    The free places where you can create a site/blog though like blogspot/squidoo/hubpages/wordpress can and do rank highly though.

    Not necessarily, but if the primary domain (and I don't know this about yours) is tagged by G00gle as undesirable, then your subdomain may be in for a rougher ride.

    I would check with this command=> site:domain.tld

    What subdomains are you seeing?

    If I see lots of sites like BigHardMan.Domain.TLD, red flag!

    I run away quick when I start seeing adult, viagra and spammy looking subdomains.
