Is My Site De-Indexed? Sent to Hell? What?!?!

I have a site and have been building backlinks to it for weeks now. I have done outsourced SEO projects to build links in forum profiles similar to Angie's backlinks might have you do.

I also wrote around 20 articles and put them onto ezinearticles.com, then subsequently went back and built backlinks to each of these articles.

All in all, my site has around 100 backlinks, and each article has around 50, all from PR 4+ websites with the anchor text "How to Play Violin for Beginners".

Most my backlinks were built in the last week or so, so it may be early to jump to any kind of conclusion. Still, any time I am stuck in the sandbox for too long I start to get worried. Is it just in my head?

My site is howtoplayviolinforbeginners.net. Oddly enough, I am on the first page of Yahoo, but do not even have a ranking for Google or Bing. Can anyone give me a hand figuring out why?

  • Were you indexed before and aren't now? How old is your site? Seems fishy you wouldn't be indexed by now..but always helps to know more.
  • Actually I am pretty sure Google has me in their system but won't give me a ranking for anything! It's really bizarre!

To put it into perspective, when I type in "howtoplayviolinforbeginners.net", right above my website is this thread, which I made 5 minutes ago. Isn't that crazy? This forum thread outranks my website for its own domain name, and I just made it. What the hell.

And the site is about a month old.

    • run

      site:<your domain>
      info:<your domain>

are you using google webmaster tools?
check your indexed pages/url on it

same thing has happened to me, and im in the process of hopefully getting it reindexed
  • I found that most of the time you get out of it... it is just doing the google dance, but if its there for more than 2 weeks try changing the title around.

I found that worked for me.

    • I could see that you are indexed when I typed "site:www.yourdomain" and for the keywords "how to play the violin" your site is on Google's page 2. So I guess everything is good now?
  • Google and Bing are teaming up on you. J/K

I see your site is indexed now. Lesson learned: new site = relax and take your time.

Just to let you know people has stranger problems: I have this top 10 ranking domain name that went to hell after some 8 months of top rankings.

Now, that's strange. The site was totally gone in Google. Bye Bye.

Then, a couple days later it came back to original rankings.

    ??????

Google is a machine. A big machine. A complex machine.

    And machines screw up sometimes.

    • Ermmm no, your site prob disappeared and came back cos of the link building you were doing? After a bunch of links are directed at the site, Google re-evaluates your site and decides where to put it.

99% of what Google does is intentional.... And they have put the 'dance' effect and this 're-evaluation' effect effect in to ensure webmasters cant figure out their algorithim.

  • Your website isn't de indexed. it still shows on google, and yahoo but not on Bing, and you haven't built enough links for your site. ( see it for yourself, try searching this on yahoo "link:yourdomain"
The inlinks that I saw was only coming from this forum and on ezine, so it means that you aren't building enough links to help you rank in search engines. Also try to get authority links from your website. There are more better ways spamming links like crazy over the web.
  • Your site probably get banned by google..My sites experience the same thing..It difficult to get out from google banned..so becareful nextime..especially in link building and also on page SEO...
  • Your site is at #9 on page one now(U.S. results). All the sites above you either have a higher PR or more backlinks than your site and they are mostly authority sites like ehow, ezinearticles and wikihow. Continue building backlinks and your site will go up in time.
  • continue the backlinking
  • You must have done something like black hat technique in terms of Google.
Create some quality links and submit your site again to Google directory.
  • just do one thing , use some white hat link building technique.and you will got your website in indexed and ranking improvement.
  • Your website is still indexed. If it disappears again don't worry about it, it's normal. It will come back
