How long for backlinks to appear in Yahoo Site Explorer?

Hi

I'm pretty new here and trying to get my head around seo. I've been working on manually building backlinks for a few months. To start with I just did a few when I had the chance but over the past few weeks I've tried to spend a small amount of time everyday to build at least 5 backlinks.

I've been using site explorer to check if any of my links have been picked up by yahoo and there has been no change. Google webmaster tools is not displaying any of the new links either.

Can anyone tell me why this is so? And how long these newer backlinks should take to be picked up?

Thanks

The links won't show up until the page you posted them on is spidered again by a Google, Yahoo, Alexa, etc. spider.

If your backlinks are on a site that doesn't get spidered very frequently, you will not see any backlinks for quite a while. It can get frustrating, but all you can do is keep plugging away and the backlinks will eventually find there way onto Yahoo and Google.

Thanks bakerious. That's what I'm doing, just continuing to build them so they get picked up eventually. I had thought it would be a little quicker though as alot of the backlinks are coming from PR3-7 sites. Ah well..

just give it some time & it will start getting discovered by the search engines little by little. just keep pumping them backlinks and make sure you mix it up like blog comments, web 2.0 social bookmarking, rss feed submissions and you should do fine

  • It really takes a long time by search engine to crawl for backlink and Index those backlink. There are certain rules of every search engine to get your backlink indexed. I am sorry to say that I don't have much idea regarding those rules.

      hey,

you could also use ping-o-matic.com to ping using the url of the page where you link is located, this will prompt the search engine to crawl that page and bingo.

      Hope this helps
