Where does google analytics code go?

Probably a dumb question, but where do I put the google analytics code in a Wordpress blog?

The instructions on google say to put it on EVERY page. Isn't there a way to edit the template so I only have to add the code once?

Thanks!

  • you can either add it to the footer.php file, or get a plugin for it.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • oh - and you can edit the template files from within the wordpress dashboard (assuming you are running your own install on your own domain- I do not know about wordpress.com hosted sites)

    • Thanks for sharing it..you are right i agree with your ans.

      Thanks
  • To get google analytics on every page, just copy and paste the code into a text box on a side bar(you will have to put the text box into the sidebar first through your 'widgets').

  • I love the Google Analyticator plugin, try that
  • If you are using word-press than you have to install the analytics plug-in and paste the code over there. I was having the same problem and resolved this in this manner only.

    • Do you have to paste code even if your using the plugin?

Ive just installed the plugin "Google analytics for Wordpress", then authenticated. It didn't mention about pasting code.
  • These plugins can help you:
    Code:
