    I personally found the Definitive Adwords Guide by Parry Marshall to be very good. You can get a pdf copy here:

    I also started out with Perry Marshall's Guide.

    It doesn't focus on secrets or tricks. Just good solid fundamental knowledge every Adwords user should know starting out.

    Once you get the fundamentals down, then you should start looking for more advanced secrets, etc.

    If you don't understand the fundamentals, the secrets won't do you any good because you won't be able to apply them properly.

    I also read everything I could here: AdWords Help. You can learn about 75% of what you need to know right there.

      Tommie is absolutely right. Marshall will get you the fundamentals but not go into nitty gritty details. For that check my link below.

        With no connection, i can vouch for lucid's book, you find some valuable little tips in that guide that help on the journey of discovery, finding some of the hidden keys that helps to unlock the secrets.

    Perry Marshall is a top boy but if you have not tried ppc yet it can prove an expensive experiment with no return on investment.
