What's the best way to see where a site's backlinks come from (and how many it has)?

Just curious if you're scouting competition how to see where all of a sites backlinks are coming from, and how accurate it is. Thanks

    Yahoo site explorer is ok for a free tool, but you can also use SEO Spyglass, which has a free version, just won't let you export the results.

    I swear by Yahoo Site Explorer, it generally picks up new links very quickly.

      It's good only for assessing Yahoo's backlinks.

  • Type in link:website.com into a lot of search engines, that will work. Or goto Alexa, they have a list of backlinks.

    If you use Fire Fox, you can use free tool "SEO Status Page Rank" add on, it can check back links, who is owner, Page Rank , Alexa Rank. A quick tool on your web, you do not need run other software.
