Hey

I have a site that has one main keyword, and it get a huge search volume, 20,000+ exact match, and Google has ranked the site in position 2 and then dropped it to position 100+.

This is fine, however it has carried on like this for months, bouncing back and forwards between these spots 15 times in total! and only ever holding position 2 for 48 hrs.

This is not just a normal Google dance, so has anyone got an opinion on this one?

Thanks

    Could still be the dance...

Try putting a video on your page to increase the time visitors spend on the site. Show google that the visitor found what they were looking for.

I'm sure that it's the dance.
It's all because of suddenly too many people click in to your site and cause it look like spam to get links.
It will be fine and give it some times.

I could take you on a trip down my wacky SEO rabbit hole.

It is to do with how Google allocate traffic

Imagine you were doing PPC for the same keyword with a $500/month budget, but you had to bid a budget of $500/day just to get your ad accepted.

Your budget would be burned out in a day..

Well there is some freaky unexplained stuff in SEO which could be looked on as very similar.
