Has anyone had any success using the Yahoo directory. I heard from many "Gurus" though online learning and seminars that I have taken that it can be worth paying $299 a year for a link on the directory.
But, when going deep into the directory I see most of the listings are on a page that has Zero page rank.
If you know, does the Yahoo Directory have link juice or is it just good for getting traffic because of the link.
Thanks In Advance,

Jon`

You pay because you want the traffic that can be generated, not
for backlink juice. Much cheaper ways for that. Sometimes you
cannot judge PR passed on by the PR of the page.

I better not have paid for the traffic, my link has been in the Yahoo Directory for a couple of weeks now and it has only given me about 10 visitors to my site.

But as far as PR goes my link is on a PR 5 page and a PR 2 page, which seems pretty good to me. I just hope they stay on those pages and don't get pushed back with time.

Those 10 visitors should be very targeted, however.

I don't think that yahoo directory listing is for traffic any more. It's just for the link benefit.

Well so are the 1,000s of visitors I got from the SEs and article marketing for free during that time. Honestly I wanted the link to help boost up my traffic and give my site some added trust. The traffic is just a bonus. If all I'm getting out of the deal is added traffic it isn't worth it.

If I was designing a search algo, I would give credit to sites listed in the Yahoo Directory. This is because I would know that the site had been screened, and it must be of some value. I think that a listing may help in the SERPs.

Let's say that direct traffic, link juice, and SERP improvements add up to 10% more business (just for argument sake). It may not pay to submit a site earning $20/month, but it would be worth submitting a site earning $500/month.

The listing DEFINITELY will help you in the serps...I have had bumps of 8-12 spots. And when you are on page 2 or 3, it matters. I only do it for SERPS, not for traffic.

$299 /year is a lot to pay for a listing in a directory I wonder how much it helps for your yahoo rankings

I have build links from Yahoo directories but I don't think that they are much effective as traffic from them is very poor.

i don't think it will bring losts of traffic to our site, but it is sure that it will give a high quality backlink to your site.
