How Do I Track the Keywords that Convert with PPC?

I'm running a google adwords campaign and I have google analytics setup on my website but the keywords that lead to subscribers are not being accurately tracked, the entrance keywords report is off.
I have the conversion optimizer enabled too but that simply tracks the ads that convert into subscribers.
How can I track which keywords actually lead to an optin so I can drive down my CPA and maximize my profits?
It currently makes a link of like domain.com/clicid/etc when people click on my ads but I've seen some sites automatically include the keywords in the url as well to track it that way. Is this the way to do it?
If so, how do you do it? Does is require some sort of code or script?
