Does Pagerank/Authority of Press Release Sites Effect How High it Ranks?

Hey all...

I was wondering if the authority or pagerank effect how high a press release will rank in the search engines?

In other words-

Press Release Site A Pagerank(6)

Press Release Site B Pagerank(2)

Which one would rank better if you distributed an article or the PR does not matter?

    Are you trying to link page rank to being an authority site? If so, that is not the way it works. Page rank only affects where you rank in google - all other search engines ignore page rank. Being an authority site takes a lot more then just backlinks.

    There are dozens, if not hundreds of factors that determine where a site ranks in the results pages - of all search engines.

    If I submitted articles to an articles site, I would look for the ones that have been around the longest - regardless of page rank. Do a few key word searches and see which article directory keeps coming up - and then submit to those.
