Negative Commands and Adsense Clicks

1. Will someone get in trouble with Google for this?

"Don't click on any of the adsense ads on the left of this sentence."

2. How about this? Pretend you have an audio or video on your site (the bolded words below are emphasized in the narrator's tonality):

As you learn more about X, you'll notice that something in your mind would just click because once you add those two facts together, things would just make a whole lot of sense to you now.

I thanked the post above in a tragic slip of the mouse. What I really wanted to do was to reply as I'm doing now and suggest this is a lousy strategy to make money.

Unless they're IM'ers most folk don't mentally label Adsense as "Adsense"... they're just "ads".

Plus... the NLP stylings you are using are not "elegant" as a certain copywriting Doc always dictates they be for purse strings to loosen.

There should be a small link that says "Remove Your Thanks."

      Thanks for the accidental thanks.

I know that the NLP thing that I did was not "elegant". Basically, I was just trying to point out that a good Ericksonian hypnotist could probably get away with adsense trickiness by using embedded commands that would not be breaking adsense terms and conditions. This could particularly be true with video and audio, especially if it is done deep inside the recording like 18 minutes into a 30 minute webinar.

I pretty much agree with the Harlan copywriting guy that many NLP stuff can't work in text because they were meant for conversational communication.

I'm more of lurker on this forum but I can speak about this topic a little. I totally agree you can't use NLP in copy - frankly it reads really badly and reader will look at it and go :confused::confused::confused: (what does that mean).

However, I've had the chance to look at number of people who were former students who attended the same NLP course I attended and frankly I have to shake my head.

They are too absorbed in using complex language patterns and not concerned with tuning into the readers favourite emotional radio station WIIFM (what in it for me)...If you want someone take action you have to include them in the process. In my opinion negative commands only work in the therapeutic setting.
