Duplicate content on blog?

Do you get a duplicate content problem if you have a blog and then sticky a blogpost to the front page? That means the index page gets indexed with the blog post and the same blog post is also indexed individually?

duplicate content its not good whatever you do it.
but if you put in one blog the full content and the other blog only summary content and give credit to full content blog its fine.

That's not really what I meant. I am talking about duplicate content on my own blog. In Wordpress you have the option of 'stickying' a blog post to the front page. That means it will always show and I have chosen to show the entire post and only one other post in excerpt form. So, Google will index my frontpage with that post, but it will also index the original post, so perhaps there could be duplicate content problems?

It's not a problem if you use a SEO plugin or theme that tags the original post as the canonical content. It probably isn't a problem even if you don't, but using it wouldn't hurt anything.

I agree... As long as there is always a link to the original or full content there should not be a problem. Yet, I think it is best to put the content first on the PAGE that is most important and then link to that page.

On that same note, there is no such thing as a duplicate content penalty. What Google does is filter out whatever article/site/blog has the duplicate content, IF there is less relevancy then the first.

I think someone already posted the link where you can find further information.

I don't think there is anything wrong with having the same header text on every page. I have my welcome table with its text and disclaimer on every page and never had an issue with that for over 5 years.
