Hi folks,

I'm new here but have always read the WF threads for info over the last few years. I've been making small money online with adsense sites (small as in $30 per month, but $30 is $30 right?! :-) using WP sites. I've decided id like to give static html sites a whirl but my question is, is there a good/clean/effective html template to use?

I've looked around and each one seems to vary in structure?

Anyhow, thanks and have a good day!

Gary

The truth is, it doesn't matter very much (just make sure that whatever you use does not use frames). "On-page SEO" is only a small part of SEO, and it's most important aspects are text content, title tags and internal links with correct anchor text. That said, if you want your HTML to be optimized to the max, use a table-free CSS architecture with HTML content stacking. Other things being equal, this this can give you a slight edge over your competitors. This approach is well described here:
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and SEO
and if you look at the code of the page itself, it is a fine example of the implementation.

It's nice to have optimized HTML, but only powerful external links can give great SEO results.

I hope this helps a bit!
