Adsense Newbie Question?

I just added AdSense to my site, but sometimes the ads are not relevant to my product/site theme. Is there a way to fine-tune the relevancy of
AdSense ads that show up on my site?

For example, the url of my site is "homebrewaudio.com" which is about "audio" and not brewing your own beer or wine. But I am occasionally getting ads about the latter. Can I tell Google to ignore that particular word ("brew")?

Thanks!

  • Go to your adsense account and search for "section targeting" - that will allow you to tell google to target "this content" and can put the script where you talk about "audio" - it may take a few days to re-target the ads but it works well.

  • you can not tell google to ignore ads based on keywords, but you can go into you adsense control panel and remove advertisers specifically targetting your site.

Go to adsense setup > ad review centre

but in your case I suggest you follow advice from Kay above, and also give it a couple of days.

I am happy to have a look at your site to see if I can see anything else wrong. I make about £300 a month on adsense, not a lot but have been running it for several years.

    • Thanks imrat. All this is still new to me, so I will take any help I can get. The site is Home Brew Audio

I'm using WP with Thesis theme.

      Thanks!
