I was wondering if anyone else noticed that when you create a new post/page on a website you will usually see it obtain rather high SERP placement for a few days then it slowly trickles back and sometimes way back like over position 200. I'd like to know what kind of strategies people are using when creating a new page/post to get it to stick better?

Do you just write the page, and submit it to some sites like Digg and then move on or what have you found to work?
