Shared ip hosting and power of backlinks

Hey guys something I've been thinking about recently is that I have around 6-8 websites that I'm actively building backlinks to in recent months using a few but powerful article directories ( like ezine) and something I've been curious about is google discounts links from one ip address to another ip address right? Basically, lets say I have 20 articles on ezine with 40 BL pointing to 8 different sites (yet with the same ip address) is the link juice diluted?

I suppose those building massive links with xfactor that mainly use article directories could prove me wrong if they have shared hosting for their 50+ websites yet can keep getting their new websites ranked using the same directories.

I think I'm just confusing this with the discounted link juice form inter linking between websites with the same ip address but it's something I'm considering because I might want to switch to a reseller account which should have multiple ip's.

Well first off a reseller account will not give you additional ip addresses. You usually get two per account for all the domains to share. If you want more than that you have to pay an additional monthly fee.

Unless you are trying to link from one or more of your sites to boost another one of your sites then the ip address of your sites really does not matter at all.

What matters is that the incoming links are from different sites/ip's. If all your backlinks are coming from one or two sites then you are going to see a decreasing amount of benefit from the additional ones. Articles are good but make sure that you get the links from as many sites as possible and add some other types of links in as well.
