Is article marketing enough to get a page 1 ranking?

Hello warriors,
I recently started a new website and it got indexed a few days back.
Now the main question is how should I promote it,can I just rely on article marketing and get page 1 rankings.

Since It is a new website I think press releases shouldn't be a good idea because lots of backlinks in such a short time could get you sandboxed.
What do you recommend?

I don't think there's a simple answer to this unfortunately since there are so many factors that play a role. The niche you are in, the keywords you chose, how much competition, how strong the competition is...

We could only guess and that probably won't help you.

It can be enough if the niche isn't very competitive. You'll need more if it is.

Even though article marketing is my favorite and primary method of marketing, you should use as many, different marketing methods as possible. Including, but not limited to, press releases, forum posting, blog commenting, social media, guest blogging, etc. NEVER put all of your eggs in one basket. Because if you happen to drop that one basket...

...or if someone shoots it out of your hand for you - too many things go wrong on a big companies' end that you have no control over. So do article marketing through a lot of venues and don't forget to bookmark for the backlinks and such. Social media's good if you can drum up a following, but you might have to put personal tweets/updates in once in a while and not just rely on auto-tweeting to keep followers' interests.

Hey in order to get your site to number one on goolge it takes time but what i have done is forum posts posts in my blog about the site articles press releases blog hop and SEO

Here are few different ways i get traffic to my site

    1 Forum Traffic
Forums are fantastic communities of people that share common interests and passion so to get traffic from forums all you do is chat ask loads of questions leave comments and help people answer other peoples questions don't make it all about you give help you also want to help people not just a person almost every niche will have its own forum and everyone is interested in your subject
Its important that you dont just join a forum and put your sites out straight away delivery value and you will receive tons of traffic
You can find forums by going to google and typing your niche in say for me i would put Internet marketing forums lists you get a load of results just look and see which have the most traffic to them
so add value and you will get traffic
    2 Article Traffic
Article traffic is one of the most popular traffic methods because its easy and free
So just submit a short informational article about 500 words related to your niche and put your website / blog on the bottom submit the article to lots of article directories then you will see lots of traffic from this
    3 Squidoo Traffic
Squidoo is a social community website which allows users to create about themselves you can make it about your product your blog or websites you can have as many lens as you want and all these lens could link back to your blog/websites
You should write a lens around areas that you have a fair amount of knowledge about and can write with confidence you can also get them write for you if your not great at writing before you write a lens get abit of knowledge by going to google and looking up other people lens and get few ideas
So thats 3 great easy and free wasy to get traffic to your site

I hope this helps you out

    Thanks
    Davy Norton

Hey, congrats on your new site.

The way to get traffic is backlinks + plus good keywords.

Be sure the pages of your site are optimized for keywords that get good traffic but low competition. There's a difference between being indexed on page 3 or on page 23.

The further away you are from page 1, the more you need to do with your backlinking efforts.

Backlinks work best when they are from:
      • Relevant sites (not necessary but works best this way)
      • From sites with a strong authority. At least PR 2, but PR 4 and up is better.
      • From diverse IP addresses, i.e. different sites. Mirrors what search engines see.

Don't be surprised if your pages do the Google dance, meaning they rank very well and get plenty of traffic. Then, all of a sudden, after a week or so, your pages lose their rank. This is normal.

Google refreshes its index constantly, but if you did your backlinking right, it will rise back up, perhaps even stronger than before. Google does the shake down every so often to get stuff to sift into its proper place.

Once you rank well, see if you're getting sales with the traffic. Is your content compelling enough to get people to click on your link?

Suppose they click your link, land on your affiliate page and don't buy anything. What do you do? A

      Analyze.

Maybe they don't like the product. Maybe the don't like the price. Or perhaps the salespage isn't convincing them to buy anything. You may want them to instead go to a landing page you create to pre-sell them a little more. See if that works.

If you get 2 sales out of every 100 clicks, you know you have a 2% conversion. That's not bad. You made money. Think about ways you can improve those stats or get more traffic. Lots you could do.

If you got a new site and you're going after a competitive keyword, I've found it's easier to get the article url ranked than it is for your own url. Say if you post an article to ezinearticles.com, you would want to build links to that url to get it ranking well.

Do a complete promotion campaign to include article marketing, forum links (in your signature), Facebook announcements, Twitter announcements, Yahoo Answers, Squidoo lenses, Hubpages, videos and various other web properties.

Research what your competition is doing (how many links do they have coming in, where are they coming from) and then just out work them.

    Respectfully,
    Tim

Slow and steady wins the race. Corny, but true.

If you have done your keyword research thoroughly, and you are getting into a niche where you have low competition for the keywords you selected, then article marketing may be sufficient - but you should probably not rely on just one article site.

The other advice from the warriors is solid though, use various platforms. You can probably construct 5 blog comments in the time it takes you to do one article, or a couple of forum resposes in that same time. Mix it up to make things look natural.

You should also think about the long term. Unless you have an untapped niche keyword (in which case I wanna be your buddy!), ranking well takes time. But in my experience, the harder you work at the beginning, the easier it is in the long run. As your post/site becomes more established, you will have to add less backlinksto its structure to maintain its search rank position. At least that is what has worked for me.

    Good luck with your site!

Press releases shouldn't get you sanboxed.

    Quite the opposite actually.

There are some very simple SEO principles:

    # 1: Give the search engines what they want...highly targeted, high quality content on your site.

    # 2: Get sites that the search engines respect to point at your site (you can do that with articles submitted to article sites, press releases, posts on blogs and forums, videos on sites like youtube etc etc).

    # 3: Some keyword phrases are a whole lot easier to compete for than others. When you're starting out having a lot of pages on your site EACH targeting just one long tail keyword phrase that doesn't have a lot of competition is going to be an easy way to get good rankings...especially if you have sites google respects pointing at those pages.

Getting 20 pages ranked near the top of google for long tail search terms that suggest people want to buy something you have to sell can often be more lucrative than being at the top of google for a shorter more competitive search term.

If you're confused about what should be on those pages go back and read # 1.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh

The article content written by you need to be attractive enough to hold the interest of the readers till the end of the article. The title heads and keywords found in the articles needs to be very targeted to make more users read your content. Avoid making errors and faults as you are presented as a expert to the readers.

All in all it can when you give it lots of time. But your articles have to be really good. It has to be loved by your readers to the point that it becomes a 'need' then you get links from them and that's what's gonna put you up in first page. You can hasten this process though by doing extra work like submitting to ezines and blogs or whatnot
