In the process of building backlinks, it's a given that unless/until those backlinks are indexed they aren't doing you too much good.

If you are in the process of building many backlinks - what is the best/easiest way to check that the various pages/articles/content/videos/what have you are indexed?

Is it still best/easiest to pull up a google search and type site:the url and see if it comes up? If so - I can never remember which is the best way to put in the url - do you put in the http://? Thanks!
