Hi,

I'd like you more experienced Warriors to clear something up for me. I've recently been looking into the Farmville niche, and a new Farmville guide has just been launched (Index of /). If you search Google for 'farmville champ', the no. 1 result is Farmville Champ | Farmville Champion | Farmville Guide - an affiliate site.

Now this site was registered on 6th July 2010 (6 days ago) - my question is how does anyone get to no. 1 in Google in 6 days??

I don't know who this site belongs to - probably a Warrior, so I hope you don't mind me using your site as an example! I'm not trying to steal your secrets, just using this as an example of a super quick google ranking.

Any insights appreciated.

To be honest its very easy. Firstly they just bought a keyword domain which really helps. They have 1 backlink so anyone can outrank them. It was more or less just getting themselves indexed which they were relying on. This can be done within a few hours. Shoot me up if you need any help!

Keywords in the domain name plus the keywords are hyper linked in the title.

Keyword in the domain name and it is the ONLY thing in the domain name. I know for a fact Google gives this a lot of weight. It's probably the only reason we rank #1 for "Warrior cats rpg." We sure don't have the link love or the age to do it otherwise.

Looks like it won't be hard to topple but don't waste time. They may be gearing up for their own SEO too if anyone knocks them down.

    Hi,

From my point of view it's not only the keywords in the domain. Indeed this is very important for Google but I'm pretty sure that Google already knows that nowadays most of the good domains (based on keywords) are already taken. This would mean they won't rank the new websites that easy than the ones that kws in domain names? No! Recently Google is focusing much much much more on the content of the website. If you would analyze a bit the content of Farmville Champ | Farmville Champion | Farmville Guide you would notice that this is very good and more important is highly related to FarmvilleChamp! The content is unique and manually written which again is very important.
So this guy has focused on a very good niche, spending time to write good content. And that's his reward from Google :-)

Btw, I can see he is on #3 now and you are in front of him! Congrat!

    Hope it helps,
    Cristian

It’s normal to get very fast on the first page even on the first place...even if it’s new...it has the keyword in the domain name...in the title...and the website is optimized for this word especialy and it has only a couple of thousands of websites in competition...

This is very interesting. I have noticed in many instances that keywords in the domain, especially long tail uncompetitive keywords, tend to do very well. However, I had no idea it could happen this fast.

In my research I've noticed that domains with the keyword in them (particurly long tail keywords) can get ranked with just one or two backlinks. Domains without the keyword often need 100s.

Google seems to place a tremendous amount of weight on this. However, I agree that unique quality content is very important as well.
