How long to $100 a day with adsense?

Hi, I've been in the adsense game on and off for the past 4 years, and am currently only making $10 a day (I've been as high as $30). I haven't put anywhere near the effort I need to into it, and I'm changing that as we speak.

I'm just wondering roughly how long it's taken those who've achieved $100 a day? Based on my "adsense only" sites, I'm making about $.1 a visitor.

With that data, I would need 1000 visitors a day to reach my $100 goal. Assuming 2% of searchers click on your site (which is true for positions 4-10, where you will usually be ranking) you would need to get ranked for 1000 keywords that get 50 searches a day (1000*50*.02).

On the surface those are some pretty depressing figures. I'm just looking for a ballpark figure on how long I can expect to reach $100 a day, assuming I build one new site a week.

I'm using the strategy where I buy a domain with a long tail keyword in it, and only put one page on the site (with unique, quality content of course). I will then get as many backlinks as I have to until I rank. Others here are doing great with that, so I'm going to try my hand at it.

I'm just looking for a ballpark figure on what I can expect. I'm hoping to get to $100 a day within 9 months (already at $10). Is that realistic? Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Why dont you try to target keywords that have low competition but higher search volume. your CTR is quite good, so what ever your doing keep it up.

I've always felt that approach was an oxymoron...if a keyword has low competition but relatively high search volume it is usually because it doesn't have a product/service related to it that generates worthwhile revenue. If that is the case, even if you could rank your site well there won't be enough Adsense advertisers paying worthwhile bids for each click. Whenever I push "Gurus" on it and ask them to show me the money they concede the point.

The internet is a big place with lots of smart people, very few, if any, pockets of inefficiency are out there.

To answer your question directly, to make that kind of money you need to get into a medium-highly competitive niche because that is where the traffic and juicy bids are going to come from. Getting into a highly competitive niche will in itself be time consuming and expensive but you get what you pay for.

Your only other choice is to create an army of hundreds or even thousands of Adsense sites, which people have done but I've never liked the idea of giving so much control of my revenue to Big Gs algorithm.

        I hope that helps.

I read the post quickly, maybe mistaken, but you are talking about many many mini sites? There have apparently been many many people banned for the creation of mini made for adsense sites.
The amount you make will also need to incorporate how much google is charging the advertiser for it (cost per click). If the figure is low, you will need tonnes of visitors, vicea versa.

      Hi,

I don't know how long it would take.

But it will take a lot of blogs in fairly competitive niches.

A good formula for adsense is the following:

Set up WordPress blogs with the UAW plugin (set blog to receive unlimited articles) and Jeff Johnson's SEO Traffic Getting plugin.

Put one adsense block only (large square) in each post with an adsense plugin.

Do some very simple social bookmarking including Digg.

Sites like this will grow very quickly and will receive about 300 uniques per day hands off once they are created.

The same can be accomplished for free with blogger blogs but will take longer because UAW will only post five articles per day to blogger.

I have about 6 blogger blogs that I set up ages ago, have not touched or even looked at that produce about $30 per month.

If you need more help just pm me.

      Best,

      Scott
p.s. HunterSnake, am I reading the amount on that check right?

I think it would take 2 years unless you outsource or get people to write your content (e.g. on a forum type site).

This is based on the technique I'm using. Sorry I'm still writing my WSO!

You can be on $100/day with adsense in one week, it's actually incredibly simple. My answer is very short, so you'll therefore dismiss it. It contains all the information you need to reach this goal in one week however, but you won't utilize it, I promise.

Travel to China. Hire 100 workers there for 50 cents a day who can write good Mandarin. Create a content site in a week that will rival the Chinese version of about.com. Put adsense on the site.

    There you have it.

    1000 keywords?

Why not focus on 20 keywords that get 2500 hits a day?
