I just wrote my first answer in Yahoo Answers. I entered my URL in the resource section but it does not come up as a link.
How do I go about it? (I already checked the answers on yahoo -all outdated - they say copy and paste which does not work now)
Thank you in advance for your help

Your links won't be clickable until you gain enough points to reach level 2. But keep putting links in your answers, because when you DO reach level 2, your old links will become clickable. -- Patey88

One thing to keep in mind when using Yahoo Answers is to provide a high quality answer to the questions that you answer. You will not be able to get away with a few sentences and a link.

When I answer questions I try and use the name of the person asking the quesiton in my answer and I usually end my question with a smiley face or some other personable touch in order to make the user feel more at ease with my answer.

That's how you get the folks reading your answers (along with the original poster) to click on your links. Plus as an added bonus most of your answers will get selected as the top answer.

Yahoo Answers is a great way to drive traffic to your site but you have to show it and the person asking the question some respect by providing a decent answer and not some half-baked garbage.

    Respectfully,

I came to the conclusion that Yahoo answers was pretty much pointless and drew time away from things that would actually help you. The reason, yahoo answers is "nofollow" so the backlinks don't count.

The direct traffic that they bring you is not anything spectacular. Unless you get 1,000s of best answers linking back to your site it is not worth it.

The direct traffic from any source is not spectacular unless you set up a page to funnel it properly.

Of course, it ranks lower then traffic from other sources such as PPC or article marketing but Yahoo Answer's traffic can be profitable if channeled properly.

I found that certain niches work better then others and within those niches some require squeeze pages while others don't.

If you are having content pages that is related to the question that you are answering, you can put a reference link but still they would be "nofollow".

yes, yahoo answer gives only traffic, if you want to increase your ranking on search than don't wast your time to reply there.

And great traffic even, at least for some niches. I can say that niches geared towards teenagers for example, do really well. I've had lots of success with it.

Umm, while GWT shows even nofollow links, isn't that a sign that nofollow counts also?

I guess if I had a 1 page sales letter then getting 300 or so clicks/month from yahoo answers would be worth it. But I am trying to build authority content/adsense/affiliate sites.

I need 1,000s of people visiting my sites a day, I simply need to focus my energy in places that will bring me that rather the yahoo answers. It is not a waste of time, but there is opportunity cost.

      Anyways that's just me though.

I personally don't see Yahoo Answers as a good way to build backlinks at all. When I was new to making money online and posted links on Yahoo Answers, they would only get banned. Haha. But that's probably because I was spammy

I agree with you. But keep in mind nofollow atribute is just for Google, the other search engines don't consider the nofollow atribute

For me at least, yahoo answer is highly targeted traffic. Sure, it doesn't help boost your site up to the top 10 results but think about long term traffics!

As for the answer, patey nailed it Just keep on providing answer and your links will go live soon enough.
