Next best to Adsense?

I've lost almost all my normal Adsense income this week due to the Mayday update. I don't really get it, site traffic has increased... I'm sending more page impressions... but instead of the average 45 clicks a day I'm being told I'm getting around 10-12 with my ad impressions increasing. The value per click has also gone town tremendously. Honestly this seems shady to me.

What I'm wondering is which text advertising company would be the next best as far as pay per click?

Any input? And thanks ahead of time.

Why not signup to a few, like adbrite, then use openX to serve them randomly and do some testing on best conversion etc over a few months?

Sounds like a plan, I've heard Adbrite isn't so good as far as how much you earn but it's probably better than what I'm getting now. Thanks

        adbrite
        chitika
        blogads
        yahoo publisher ads
        widgetbucks
        ebay ads

unfortunately they all suffer from the curse of competing with google....
