Hi Guys, I'm pretty new to the forum, been here for a few months, but mostly reading and learning. I have been doing SEO for the last 6 months, but now I have a problem with a CMS site. It has only a few optimized keywords, the guy did a poor job with on page optimization and i can't seem to break through with any keywords, and my main concern is that the site keeps changing ranks in Google every few days, and I mean big changes. Rankings from 2 to 127 and so on, and we are talking about a site in it's third year that is already established.

Here is the link for the site: w w w . v i p - c o n s u l t . c o . u k , if anyone has some suggestions on what to change, what to go for or anything else in general I would be very grateful.

Thanks guys

Well, the design is kind of cute, but I kind of feel the header and right side grab so much attention that the content area is not getting enough action from visitors. You'll notice most Web 2.0 sites these days have toned down their colors.

Note that the Meta Keywords tag is not a metric in Google anymore, so up to you if you want to keep it.

Now as I did the google "site:" search, I had arrived at many varying pages where the overall purpose was not clear to me. There were a few stub pages, but if I had to nail down what bothered me the most, I'm convinced your bounce rate is going to be too high because the design doesn't facilitate the correct actions. The large menu and graphics don't tell me what I need to do on THIS page.

Once the bounce rate is addressed, I think you need to think seriously need to look at how you are adding and presenting content so you have a simple way to add pages and target long tail keywords. You are sort of doing it now, but it good be better.

    Good luck!

Thanks you for the quick reply, I agree with your, the right area is a big distraction and I need to convince my client to make it smaller.

If anyone else has something more to add feel free to do so, i could really use some more advice

Not to make another topic I will just post another question here.

I made a few web design templates that I will offer for free with my link in the footer, now is that good or not. I mean the only question I have is: will that get me penalized by google, should I avoid that or is it actually a good idea?
