When you check your sites position in google, are you logged into your google account? If so, this could give you an artificial ranking. Sites that you visit on a regualr basis will appear close to the top.

Log out of your google account, clear your browser cache and cookies - and repeat the search. Then you will see your sites true ranking.

Also, the keywords your trying to rank for could have low traffic..perhaps check google keyword tools and see what the traffic is per month

you also need to click the disable search activity button...even if your not logged in it still monitors what you search and click on

Another way to check your website's ranking is to use a free tool like serprank. Just key in your url and the keyword that you are ranking.

I check in serprank, and get this:

The URL that you entered ( Snore No More Snoring Solutions, Stop Snoring. ) was found on Page 1 in Google search for the following keyword(s) ..... snore no more

        and

The URL that you entered ( Software Submitter ) was found on Page 1 in Google search for the following keyword(s) ..... software submitter

        Same on Yahoo (page 1)
