What is the best way to spy on competition that has been and stayed in the market with PPC?

I am trying to sell a proudct for at least $50, but my competition, from my estimations, is paying 2 dollars a click.

That means at a 1% conversions, they are still paying 200 to get a $50 sale... which kinda scares me.

(Their prices are about 50 a sale)

SO I need to gather this data:

1.) How can I ACCURATELY see which advertisers have been in and STAYED in the market for a few months? (in other words, they're making money)
2.) How can I tell what they are paying in adwords per click?

I know about SpyFu and KeywordSpy, but, I just wanted to know what is the latest and greatest of the keyword spy tools. I am a bit behind the times.

PLease help me...

What you should really be asking, is how they are making their money back on the backend. If you can't do the same, then you're gonna be outbid and lose a lot of money to get the same traffic.

This is called a front end lead generator. You sell a product at break even or even at a loss, and then make you profit on the backend.

Whether that's regular promotions, upsells, cross sells, downsells, one time offers...

If you can find out what they are doing and do something similiar, then you can afford to compete in the PPC game.

Where and how did you get that data ($2 clicks, and 1% conversion rate)?

That is one ****ty campaign if you are getting a 1% conversion rate! But more importantly, the bid price...where are you getting $2? You may be paying $2 for the first few hundred clicks, but then they start to come down if you have a good CTR, and they can come WAY down over a bit of time if you keep it running.
