Domain name question for the SEO experts

I have a well established e-commerce domain, lets call it goodgolfing.com (totally ficticious!), which has been around for five years. One page is goodgolfing.com/golf-swing.htm, - however this page ranks poorly because of lots of competition and I know I'm losing quite a bit of business. This keyword has a good monthly search volume.

Now golf_swing.org is available but if I copy my goodgolfing.com/golf-swing.htm page to this domain, I'll end up with duplicate content. I also need to integrate to my WorldPay payments page on the old domain.

Is it worth registering golf_swing.org and what's the best Google-friendly way to integrate it with my existing goodgolfing.com site?

If you take down the original page then you will not face any duplicate content penalty.

Alternatively, grab the new domain and see if you can get it ranking with some new content. Then you could forward all buyers onto the old site. That might work.

Why not create relevant content for the new domain vs copying from the old. I'm not a SEO expert but I not even sure that it matters if the content is on separate domains. As I understand it the only time you are "penalized" is when there is duplicate content on the same domain. (or so I've been told)

you shouldn't be worried about one page, especially if you are losing business because of it not ranking.

buy the other domain and put UNIQUE content on it.

Build a squidoo page for it, write tons of articles and submit them, social bookmark everywhere, read tips on this forum

don't just try and rank one page, Own spots 1-10!

create some youtube videos for the topic

if you want the traffic you can get it, but I wouldn't approach it by copying the current copy onto another domain or not.
