Web 2.0 Link Building Strategies

I'm diving into Web 2.0 Link building (ie, Squidoo, HubPages, Blogger, etc...) and I just want to be sure I do it right. I thought it would be a good idea to see if there's a definitive source of knowledge around here about the RIGHT way to build links using Web 2.0 sites.

I know that there is some benefit to linking the Web 2.0 sites together, but what's the right way to do it? Also, when updating your Web 2.0 blogs, should you always include backlinks to new individual pages within your money site?

Interlinking strategies change from person to person. Basically you have to be smart enough to confuse the search engines into not being able to track down your network.
Here's something for you to start with, you can improvise after each link wheel:

      Thanks for posting that link.

Here's a more specific question: If I start a Squidoo lens that points to my money site's index page, should I frequently update it with new articles that each point to individual pages within my money site?

I just link from the web 2.0 straight to my money pages, then build back links to them. I don't think link wheels work very well, but you can try it and see how it goes. I could be wrong.

Sometimes the fun is not only doing a link wheel, but also doing a link wheel that attaches to one of your spokes. For example in the graphic from NinjaBoy you can create an entire link wheel around Ezine Articles. The idea is that you create squidoo, youtube, and hubpage content around your ezine article. That way your ezine article gets additional ranking, which adds more credibility to your money site.

SEO experts are like politicians. They have differing opinions, and there are lots of "cliques". If you are a buyer of the services, the best thing you can do is educate yourself. It is an ever changing environment. I have always held to the belief that creating a site that people love, and is useful, trumps any SEO strategy.

Great point. So much misinformation on the web, you really have to find your trusted sources for info and stick with them. Some forums/blogs are chalked full of misleading info. Try to actively monitor your projects so that when you are trying new things you can prove effectiveness. It can be hard when you have multiple projects going on too but it is getting easier as Google indexes faster. No longer waiting 2-3 months to see changes.
